You know that goosebump moment, the central spine of the kite goes right through the centre of the Church, exactly through the centre south from Arbor Low to the Peak Cavern. So when i got home I looked on GE to see where it was in relation to the kite formation. It is a most wonderous church and when you see the size of the village you think how, why, it is so big with no catchment. One of my wife's friends had a baby and it was being christened at Tideswell Church the Cathedral of the Peak. My wife got mad at me for being an obsessive sado ( right again) so i took some breaks from the portal and got into family mode and had a good summer. So since it has been a permanent fixture on my GE system.īecause of my massive admiration for John's book i spent a huge amount of time analysing it and breaking down his findings. The kite was too good to ignore so i posted it permanently on GE using the references that were very easy to locate. So in my mind i marked him as premier league staus with Thom,Stukeley, Petrie and the metrologists such as the Heaths Neal and the modern people on this site, Wilkinson, Harris, Franklin and Bartosz.

I never realised that Arbor Low was so far to the south of the other sites.Īnyway, i was totally amazed by how John could have realised this without any of the modern electronic tools we take for granted. On page 181 is the Derbyshire kite formation of key megalithic sites including Arbor Low the Bull Ring Wet Withers and the Peak cavern. You can do this when you are retired, believe me it is much better than you anticipate.

i bought John's book that was published in 1978 on 16th jan this year for £15.98 and not a penny to John. This is a true story and happened this year. I can't remember if it was before he discovered the Wilkinson Thom line or after - c'a na fait rien. John wrote a book about the derbyshire megalithic sites, Bill Wilkinson advised me to buy it and i did.
